I think I disagree with this assessment. I agree that binary data is a usecase, but an array of bytes is 4x smaller than an array of ints - it is a legitimate thing to use them for that purpose. |

In most real code,
byteis not used individually to save space (the memory footprint of a singleintis negligible compared to a singlebyte), but rather, byte arrays are used to work with binary data. This MR explains that.
