I'm on my phone and typing isn't much fun, so I just looked over the first section. Here are some ideas:

Animal Farm is one of the better books I've encountered [Encountered where? In my life? During my time as a student? Maybe add clarification here]. Written in 1945 by English author Eric Arthur Blair under his pen name George Orwell [I'd consider dropping this reference to his legal name and simply referring to him as "George Orwell", unless you're going to add a lot more information about his background], it is one of his best known and most influential works. [Any references to Orwell's reputation, be it for literary criticism, social commentary, satire, or his influences on modern popular culture and political culture would fit nicely here]

[Probably better to make this a new paragraph and elaborate a bit more on the significance of the following observations:]The sentences are well composed, which aided in my comprehension. The book consists of fewer than 100 pages and I was able to complete it in two sittings [consider omitting the comment on mileage variance, as this is common sense].
